Academy Animal Hospital, P.A. was started by Dr. Charles E. Franklin in 1966.  ​Dr. Franklin i​s a 1966 graduate of the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine.  His desire was to establish walk-in appointments, so that it would be easier for the different working schedules of the military and their spouses.  The current location at 237 Western Blvd was built by Dr. Franklin in 1969.  Our location is convenient to Hwy 24, Tawara Terrace I and II, Midway Park and the main gate of Camp Lejeune.

Our surgeries are by appointment, usually in less than four to five days for routine surgeries. and of course emergencies always come before routine surgeries. The hospital is staffed with caring, understanding employees and we are not a part of any franchise, which means lower prices to our clients.  ​

In order to keep costs down for our clients, payment is expected at the time of service.  We accept Care Credit along with many different insurance programs available to our clients.  We accept every major credit card. Pet care can be expensive. Our state of the art equipment is expensive as well.  We provide a professional service that is affordable to everyone.

Academy Animal Hospital has grown from one veterinarian, Dr. Franklin, to four other veterinarians, who can provide a second opinion without leaving the facility.
