Meet Our Veterinarians
Charles E. Franklin, DVM
Dr. Charles Franklin is a 1996 graduate of the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. Academy Animal Hospital, P.A. was started by Dr. Franklin in 1966. His desire was to establish walk-in appointments, so that it would be easier for the different working schedules of the military and their spouses. The current location at 237 Western Blvd was built by Dr. Franklin in 1969.
Catherine Lewis, DVM
Dr. Lewis is a 2011 graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include, soft tissue laser surgery, bulldog medicine and exotic animals. She loves animals of all description.
Laurel Collier, DVM
Dr. Collier is a 1995 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked around the world, including several military bases. She loves her two cats, Bo Bo and Oliver.
Joan Wetta, DVM
Dr. Wetta is a 1987 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She works on Wednesday afternoons, and then she works at The Coastal Veterinary Emergency Clinic.
Rachel E. Mowell, BVMS
Dr. Mowell is a 2012 graduate of The University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine.
