OUR HISTORY

February 22, 1998 at the home of Graham and Jennifer Carroll the Lighthouse Baptist Church was established. Seven persons met to chart the course of a church founded on the principals of the word of God. Lois Shepard, wife of founding pastor, Phillip Shepard introduced the name of "“Lighthouse Baptist Church"” in accordance with the ministry'’s vision to be a beacon of hope throughout the entire community. As we embarked on this mission it was our goal to be a ministry of outreach by winning souls to Christ, ministering to the needs of people both spiritually and physically, offering a support system to our military families and those in need. The church motto is "“Where His presence and yours are welcome!"” This is truly evidenced by the diversity of the church. Persons of all walks of life and racial background represent us. As our vision is stated best in the scripture of Matthew 5:16, "“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven."” Through this, Lighthouse Baptist Church has grown from seven members to well over 300.
