OUR MINISTRIES
Through the many ministries of the church we continue to grow in numbers as well as in Christ.
Prayer
We have many prayer warriors at Lighthouse Baptist Church. A men's Bible study and prayer meeting is held every Tuesday night at 7:00pm. Other groups and studies meet and pray as the need arises.
Elders / Seniors
There are many members of Lighthouse looking out for and attending to the needs of our senior citizens in the church.
Once a year the church treats the senior citizens to an outing (typically a day trip) for entertainment, food and fellowship.
Sunday school
Sunday school classes are held every Sunday morning at 9:45am. We have classes for grade school youth, high school youth and adults.
Youth
Lighthouse Baptist Church is very proud of their awesome Youth Ministry that has a mission to see youth transformed into vibrant, dedicated and contagious followers of Jesus Christ.
Music
We enjoy any and all types of worship music - as long as it uplifts the name of the Lord. Lighthouse frequently hosts music ministries from all musical "flavors" - southern gospel, traditional gospel, bluegrass, etc. Past musical guests have included Biney English, Wilmington Celebration Choir, No Other Name, Reggie Sadler, The Horrells, The Anchormen, The Eastmen Quartet, Kings Grace, Hank Barbee and Belle Vici, the Richlands Men's Choir to name but a few.
In addition, we have a wealth of talent within our congregation that praise the Lord in song on a regular basis.
Community service
Other ministries include the Women’'s Missionary Union (WMU) and the Men’'s Weekly Prayer Group that work diligently throughout the year with various fundraisers, like the Lois Shepard Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament, to provide church members who are graduating seniors with scholarships. Our Outreach programs also support the local soup kitchen, volunteers in local schools, supports the local Relay for Life, and provides sponsorships to local little league and adult recreation teams. The ministries are active in meeting the needs of families in times of crisis such as deaths, sickness, natural disasters and family emergencies. Lighthouse Baptist Church also supports worldwide missions through the Southern Baptist Convention.
